چکیده

Plant essential oils (EOs) and their active compounds are recognized as sustainable tools for the management of arthropod pests. The bitter orange, Citrus aurantium L. (Rutaceae), is a widespread tree in Mediterranean region that used especially rootstock other Citrus. Although most this plant’s parts accredited with medicinal properties, its fruits not consumable generally considered non-valued waste. aim work was to assess potential use EO extracted by hydrodistillation from C. peel fumigation chickpea seeds against Calloosbruchus maculatus. Analysis orange gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometer (GC-MS) identified twenty-two limonene major component (86%). EOs exerted toxic effects, concentration-dependent manner, on eggs (LC50 = 62.7 µL/L air), larval stages inside seed 62.8 adults (females: LC50 148 μL/L air males: 109 air). also negatively affected biological demographic performances weevil compared untreated control. Fecundity number emerged were reduced more than 57 71, respectively, while net reproduction rate intrinsic increase respectively decreased over 71% 37%, resulting total extinction pest at concentration equal 100 air. Our findings suggest possible valorization using them source bioinsecticide be integrated within programs stored product Further studies needed verify similar uses solid wastes citrus-processing industries.

Insecticidal Activity and Chemical Composition of the Morinda lucida Essential Oil against Pulse Beetle Callosobruchus maculatus

Insecticidal activity of essential oil extracted from Morinda lucida was tested on pulse beetle Callosobruchus maculatus, which is a pest that causes serious damage to several pulses. The insecticidal activity was compared with two pesticides, Phostoxin and Primo-ban-20. 120 mixed sex adult C. maculatus were introduced, along with 30 g of cowpeas. Four concentrations (0.40, 0.20, 0.10, and 0.05...

Anxiolytic and sedative effects of extracts and essential oil from Citrus aurantium L.

Citrus aurantium L. is commonly used as an alternative treatment for insomnia, anxiety and epilepsy. Essential oil from peel (EOP) and hydroethanolic (70% w/v) extract (HE) from leaves were obtained. Hexanic (HF), dichloromethanic (DF) and final aqueous (AF) fractions were obtained from HE by successive partitions. Swiss male mice (35-45 g) were treated orally with 0.5 or 1.0 g/kg of these prep...
